Create A Zazzle Store

Earn Money For Being Creative

Do you have a creative streak? Do you take a photographs wherever you go? If you can answer "yes" to either of these questions, then opening a Zazzle store may bring in a bit of income to your bank account!

Zazzle allows you to create your own designs or upload your own photographs, and use them to customize t-shirts, stationery, postage stamps, coffee mugs, and other items for sale.   You are not responsible for inventory or printing costs.  In fact, the entire process - from creating a store to designing and selling - is entirely free!

Step 1:  Decide on your niche

Freedom Wall, World War II Memorial CardI happen to be a very patriotic American, so one of my shops is the PatrioticDesignStore .  I offer products with photographs of military monuments, American flags, and national veterans cemeteries.  I also have stores on birds, destinations, and tourist attractions.

To do well on Zazzle, decide on your passion - or "niche", and design products around it. Your niche can be anything from holidays to sports, food to drink, funny sayings, and everything in between.  To get an idea of what sells on Zazzle, visit the home page , and click on "Gifts" at the top of the page.

Step 2:  Create your designs and/or gather photographs

I am not artistically inclined, so I have not designed my own graphics.  If you have this talent, you can go far with Zazzle.  Simpye open up your favorite graphics program, and begin creating designs around your niche.

If you'd rather sell your photographs, look through all your prints, or find the files on your camera or computer.  Go for clear, clean photographs.  If there are people in your photos, you will need to have a release from all involved before posting them for sale.

Step 3:  Open a Zazzle account

To begin selling your designs on Zazzle, you'll need to create an account and complete your profile. Provide as much information as you are comfortable sharing with the public.  The more you share about yourself, the more buyers will trust your designs.

Step 4:  Upload your designs

On your account page, you'll see "Images" in the menu.  Simply click on this tab, and you'll be brought to the page where you can upload your images.

Step 5:  Decide which products to sell

There are hundreds of products to choose from on Zazzle, so take the time to browse through them before deciding which to sell.  Choose from apparel, housewares, iPhone cases, postage, stationery and much more.  The more products you offer, the bigger your rewards!

How To Make Money On Zazzle

So the big question is:  how do you make money with your designs?

When you create your products and post them for sale, you designate the markup amount for your sale.  I've noticed on most of my products the markup is 10%.  Most of the time, I leave it at that amount.  However, on very specialized items, I've marked it up to 15-20%.

Keep in mind you need to stay competitive with your pricing, so don't markup the price too much!

Another way to make money on Zazzle is to promote other store owner's designs.  For example, if you have a website on World War II, you can link to my "Freedom Wall" postcard, and receive a commission.  Just make certain you add your own referral code to the link when creating your website.

One of the best ways to increase your earnings on Zazzle is to upload hundreds of designs, and promote them everywhere.  Increasing your store rank is also a great way to generate business.
